How to Scan Google Pay & PhonePe QR Codes from your Photo Gallery
Have you ever received a payment QR code on WhatsApp or Telegram, but didn't have a second phone to scan it? You are stuck staring at the QR code on your own screen, wondering how to scan it.
You are not alone. Millions of users face this "Single-Device Problem" every day. This page is the solution. Our UPI Screenshot Scanner lets you upload that image directly, reads the hidden payment link using advanced Deep-Scan Technology, and opens your favorite banking app instantly.
Is This Safe? (Yes, 100%)
We know financial safety is your #1 concern. Unlike other online scanners that upload your images to a server, our tool works Offline in your Browser.
Your Data Never Leaves Your Phone
The image scanning happens inside your browser's memory. We do not have a server database. We cannot see who you are paying.
No Login Required
We don't ask for your phone number, email, or UPI PIN. This is just a utility tool to help you bridge the gap between an image and an app.
Detailed Guide: Scanning QRs for Specific Apps
While this tool is universal, here is how it works with your specific favorite payment app:
For Google Pay (GPay) Users
Take a screenshot of the QR code. Upload it to our tool. When you tap "Open Payment App," choose Google Pay. It will skip the home screen and take you straight to the payment confirmation page. Enter the amount and your UPI PIN securely inside GPay.
For PhonePe Users
PhonePe has excellent support for external links. When you use our scanner, it will launch PhonePe and automatically populate the "To" field with the merchant's UPI ID. If the QR code had a fixed amount (like ₹500), that will be pre-filled too.
For Paytm & WhatsApp Pay
This tool works perfectly for Paytm wallets and WhatsApp Pay. If you receive a QR code on WhatsApp, take a screenshot, scan it here, and the tool can even redirect you back to WhatsApp Pay to complete the transaction if that is your preferred method.
Troubleshooting: Why can't I scan my screenshot?
Scanning a digital image is sometimes harder than scanning a paper code because of how phones handle images. Here are the top reasons for failure and how to fix them:
1. The "WhatsApp Blur"
WhatsApp compresses images to save data. This makes the tiny black dots in a QR code blurry.
Fix: Ask the sender to send the QR as a "Document" instead of a photo, or crop the screenshot to zoom in on the code.
2. Dark Mode Issues
If your phone is in Dark Mode, it might invert the colors of the screenshot (making the white background black). QR scanners need a white background.
Fix: Our tool uses Auto-Binarization to fix this, but if it fails, try switching off Dark Mode.
3. Extra Text (Solved)
If your screenshot includes the whole chat window, keyboard, and time bar, older scanners got confused.
Fix: Our new Auto-Focus Grid chops the image into pieces to find the code automatically.
4. Long Screenshots (Solved!)
Usually, scrolling screenshots break scanners.
Fix: Our tool has a special "Smart-Slice" feature that automatically cuts long images into pieces to find the code. You don't need to do anything!
Beware of Payment Scams
As digital payments grow, so do scams. Here is how using our scanner can actually protect you:
- The "Receive Money" Scam: Scammers send a QR code and say "Scan this to receive prize money." NEVER scan a QR code to receive money. QR codes are only for paying money. Our tool will clearly show you that it is a PAYMENT link.
- Fake Merchant Names: A scammer might name their account "Amazon Customer Care" but their UPI ID will be `suresh123@ybl`. Our tool extracts the Real UPI ID (VPA) so you can verify it before opening your banking app.
Pro Tip for Shop Owners
If you run a business, you often get payment screenshots from customers saying "Payment Done". Sometimes these are fake edited photos. Use this tool to scan their screenshot. If it doesn't contain valid transaction data or a link, it might be a fake image.
