Built with privacy, served with purpose
Our Story
Toolkit Gen started with a simple frustration. We were tired of searching through countless websites just to find a calculator, only to discover it was buried behind a paywall, loaded with trackers, or so bloated that it took forever to load on mobile.
We figured there had to be a better way. So we built it. Toolkit Gen is our answer to the question: "What if there was a place where useful tools actually worked, didn't spy on you, and loaded fast?"
Today, we've curated and built 180+ free tools ranging from everyday utilities to specialized calculators. Each tool is designed with one goal: solve the problem quickly without asking for your data or patience.
Why We Build Free Tools
Here's the honest truth: we believe useful utilities shouldn't cost money to access. Whether you're a student crunching numbers for homework, a freelancer tracking expenses, or just someone who wants to check if their monitor has dead pixels—everyone deserves access to good tools.
We're supported by non-intrusive advertisements. These let us keep the lights on without compromising what we've built. No pop-ups, no video ads interrupting your work, no "upgrade to premium" nagging. Just the tools you came for, and maybe a relevant ad or two.
What We Stand For
Your Data Stays With You
Most of our tools run entirely in your browser. When you calculate your TDEE or test your reaction time, that data goes nowhere. It's processed on your device, stays on your device, and disappears when you close the tab. No servers storing your personal information.
Fast and Lightweight
We've all encountered calculators that take 5 seconds to load or crash our browser on mobile. We test every tool on real devices with real connections. If it's slow for you, it's slow for us—until we fix it.
Accurate Where It Matters
For health and fitness tools, we use formulas from peer-reviewed research. TDEE calculations use Mifflin-St Jeor. Financial tools follow standard practices. We always include disclaimers because calculators aren't doctors or financial advisors.
Built With, Not Just For
We use our own tools daily. The ZFS calculator because we run home servers. The TDEE calculator because we're serious about fitness. If something doesn't work well for us, it doesn't go live—or gets fixed fast.
How We Test Our Tools
Every tool on Toolkit Gen goes through a testing process before release:
- Manual testing on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers
- Formula verification against known correct results
- Edge case handling for unusual inputs and browser quirks
- User feedback integration based on real usage patterns

Common Questions
What exactly is "client-side" processing?
Client-side means all the math and processing happens in your web browser using JavaScript. When you use our TDEE calculator, for example, your weight and height never leave your computer. They go into the calculator, the calculation runs on your device, and the result appears on screen. We literally can't see your data because it never touches our servers.
Why do you show ads?
Honestly? Hosting costs money. Domain registration, CDN fees, and keeping the servers running—these aren't free. We keep ads minimal and clearly labeled. You'll never see pop-ups, auto-playing videos, or those annoying full-screen takeovers. Just tasteful banner ads that let you keep using the tools without interruption.
How accurate are the health and fitness calculators?
Our health tools use well-established scientific formulas. The TDEE calculator, for instance, uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which is considered one of the most accurate BMR formulas for most people. That said, these are estimates. Individual metabolism varies, and these tools give you a starting point, not medical precision. We always include disclaimers because we're not doctors.
Can I use these tools offline?
Toolkit Gen works as a Progressive Web App (PWA). If you've visited the site before, many tools will work offline. Add it to your home screen on mobile, and you can use basic calculator functions without an internet connection. Some tools that require external resources might still need connectivity.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. We don't collect personal data, sell your information, or share anything with third parties beyond what's required for advertising (which follows standard privacy practices). We don't have a database of users because we don't require accounts. Your privacy is genuinely protected, not just promised.
How can I suggest a new tool?
We love hearing what our users want. Email us at [email protected] with your tool ideas. Many of our tools exist because someone asked for them. If it's technically feasible and useful to others, we'll build it.
I found a bug. What do I do?
Let us know! Email [email protected] with the tool name, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened. Screenshots help a lot. We test across browsers, but with so many tools and so many browser versions, edge cases slip through. Your reports help everyone.
Where We Get Our Information
When we build health and science tools, we don't make up formulas. We reference established research and authoritative institutions. For anything medical, we strongly recommend starting here:
- CDC - Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - US public health information
- NIH - National Institutes of Health - Medical research authority
- WHO - World Health Organization - Global health guidance
- MedlinePlus - Consumer health information from NIH
- PubMed - Peer-reviewed scientific literature database
- FDA - Food and Drug Administration guidance
